These terms apply to the Driving Rules mobile application ("the app") for iOS, published by Automotive Silhouette LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). Please read them before using the app.
By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
Driving Rules is an educational study aid. It is not a legal document, and nothing in it is legal advice. Traffic law changes, varies by jurisdiction, and may be interpreted differently by courts and enforcement agencies.
Only your state's licensing agency can confirm current official requirements. Always verify anything that matters with your state DMV before relying on it.
We make no guarantee that the content is complete, current, or free of error, and we are not responsible for any outcome arising from reliance on it — including failing a written or practical examination, a traffic citation, a collision, or any other loss.
The practice questions in the app are written by us from publicly available official driver handbooks. They are not the questions used on any state's examination, and we have no access to any state's question bank. Passing practice tests in the app does not guarantee you will pass an official examination.
Driving Rules is an independent app. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation, Department of Public Safety, or any other federal, state, or local government agency.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own study. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from the app or its content, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
The app's text, practice questions, design, and software are owned by us or licensed to us. Road-sign artwork is based on the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and related public-domain sources. Driver handbook material is published by the respective state agencies and remains theirs; the app summarises and organises that material for study.
The app can open your state's official driver handbook on that state's own website. Those sites are operated by the relevant agency, not by us. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
The app's study content works offline. Opening an official handbook requires an internet connection, and your carrier's data charges may apply. We are not responsible for connectivity problems or for charges incurred by your mobile plan.
You are responsible for your device and for using the app safely. Do not use the app while operating a vehicle. We are not responsible for device issues such as battery consumption, storage use, or problems arising from a jailbroken or modified device.
We may add, change, or remove features, and may stop supporting the app, at any time. Some updates may be required for the app to keep working, and future versions may require a newer version of iOS.
The app does not require an account and does not collect personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details, including what crash diagnostics are collected.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with the date it was last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of the app shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
